Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is executive coaching?
Executive coaching is a personalized development process that helps leaders enhance their performance, expand their capabilities, and achieve their professional goals. Through one-on-one sessions, we work together to identify your strengths, address challenges, and develop strategies that elevate your leadership effectiveness and impact.
Who can benefit from executive coaching?
Executive coaching is valuable for C-suite executives, senior leaders, emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, and high-potential professionals who want to accelerate their growth. Whether you're navigating a career promotion, leading organizational change, or seeking to enhance your leadership effectiveness, coaching provides the support and tools you need to succeed.
What's the difference between executive coaching and therapy?
Executive coaching focuses on professional development and future-oriented goals rather than personal issues or past experiences. While therapy addresses emotional healing and mental health concerns, coaching is action-oriented and concentrates on improving leadership skills, performance, and achieving specific business objectives.
How long does a typical coaching engagement last?
Most executive coaching engagements run 6 to 12 months, though the duration depends on your specific goals and circumstances. Some leaders benefit from shorter intensive programs, while others prefer ongoing support for major transitions or long-term development initiatives.
What does a coaching session look like?
Coaching sessions are typically 60 minutes and conducted in person, by phone, or via video conference. Each session is confidential and focused solely on you and what you want to achieve. We'll get clear on your vision for yourself and leadership, explore challenges you're facing, work through leadership scenarios, practice new skills, and develop action plans. Between sessions, you may complete assessments, practice new behaviors, or work on specific development activities.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE THE SUCCESS OF COACHING?

Success is measured through multiple approaches including 360-degree feedback assessments, goal achievement tracking, behavioral observations, and regular check-ins with you and, when appropriate, your supervisor or HR partner. We establish clear metrics at the beginning of our engagement to ensure we're making meaningful progress.

IS COACHING CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes, all coaching conversations are strictly confidential. Information shared during sessions stays between us unless you specifically request that I share feedback with your organization or if there are legal or ethical obligations that require disclosure. We'll discuss confidentiality parameters at the start of our engagement.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ORGANIZATION IS PAYING FOR MY COACHING?

When your organization sponsors coaching, we maintain the same confidentiality standards. Typically, I'll provide general progress updates to HR or your supervisor without sharing specific conversation details. We'll establish clear agreements about what information, if any, will be shared and always with your knowledge and consent.

DO YOU OFFER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, TOO?

Yes, I offer both individual executive coaching and leadership programs. Workshops are designed to be highly engaging and interactive. We make the best use of the depth of experience that each participant brings to the workshop. Workshops can be customized. Many clients find value in combining individual coaching and team learning approaches.

WHAT'S YOUR COACHING PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH?

My coaching approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and results-oriented. I believe every leader has the capacity for growth and that sustainable change comes through self-awareness, practical skill development, and consistent action. I draw from evidence-based methodologies and tailor my approach to your unique leadership style and organizational context.

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AS A COACH?

I hold an MA in Corporate Training, and I am a certified coach through the Newfield Network USA. As a Professional Certified Coach. I'm committed to ongoing professional development and adhere to the ethical standards established by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I have coached professionally for almost 30 years.
